Rugosomyces ionides |
Found June 10 growing in mixed hardwood and conifer forest, mainly oak and red cedar, appeared to be saprobic with leaf litter. Gills attached; white spore print. Also known as Calocybe ionides. Observed in 2006 at Leonard Springs Nature Preserve, Bloomington. Collection was unfortunately not preserved. So, these are just pictures of a pretty purple mushroom. So it goes. I have searched for this mushroom at the same locale for years on end with no luck. We all have failures, but we move on. |
