Leucoagaricus leucothites |
This very successful mushroom has been found throughout the world. Grows from soil, often in urban areas near gardens and landscapes. Lumpy, bell-shaped cap when young. Stem with a ring, often staining yellow when handled, hollow and with a bulbous base. Could be mistaken for one of the deadly all-white Amanita mushrooms, but Leucoagaricus leucothites lacks a universal veil and volva. |
